Tolerance

That artificial sweetener you are using; did you know that it may be working against any health benefit you hope to gain by using it? Aside from the unknown long-term health effects of artificial sweeteners, (and it’s not looking: BMJ) they up-regulate your palate. This means that the sweeter the foods are that you eat, the more sweet tasting foods you need to satisfy the sweet craving.  This is called tolerance. And it is similar to what happens with salt, and also with some drugs and alcohol.

Aspartame (Equal) is 200 times sweeter to your taste buds than table sugar, and sucralose (Splenda) is 600 times sweeter than table sugar.

I can help you break the artificial sweetener habit as well as help you to down-regulate your palate, so that when you do get a craving for something sweet, it will take very little to satisfy it.
